Delays
So sorry for the delayed posting! We’ve had a serious run of bad luck lately, both on the business side and at home. I’ve been heavily focused on getting the print shop fully operational, but we hit a major wall when we ran into major electrical issues, which really slowed down our timeline.
The Government Shutdown and Financial Stress
Just as we were trying to recover, the specter of the government shutdown rolled into town. While I wish these political games didn't affect us, they do—at least until we can get the bands pushing out more music, the print shop running full time, and perhaps the radio station launched. That's the path to making this my full-time gig, securing us from Congress's inability to agree on a budget, this year, and for years to come.
In the meantime, my wife was furloughed. This has been incredibly stressful and forces a tough financial decision: Do we divert print shop funds to cover immediate household budgetary items, or do we push forward with the shop's launch, gambling that a fast start will cover the void left by her missing paycheck? It’s a gut-wrenching choice, and I’m definitely looking forward to the day when this kind of external event doesn't have such a direct impact on our family.
Shrub is Ready to Go
Despite all the chaos, we have some fantastic news on the music front!
Luckily, the lads in Shrub finally figured out the last song to their album and are now touching it up for release. This album has truly been a labor of love, with the band first starting on creative ideas way back in April of '24. I’ve been privileged to hear this final track that had been plaguing them for months. They were committed to delivering a song that didn’t compromise the complex vision they had imagined for this complete body of work.
Stay tuned—once we get these final production elements sorted, we'll be rolling out the details on the new music!/
